Pro Tip: Head to Monk’s at 3:00 PM for free peanuts! No trash required; shells go on the floor.
Discretely nestled amidst skyscrapers, a nail salon, and Chicago’s “L” train lies one of Chicago’s longest-standing bars, Monk’s Pub. Since the early 1970’s, Monk’s has been serving up craft beer and burgers to the Loop’s lunch and happy hour crowds alike. Having resided in one as a young boy, the owner was inspired to fashion the bar like an Old World European monastery, with antiques, beer barrels, books, and dark wood decorating the interior. A craft beer lover’s haven, Monk’s stocks 170 bottles and cans along with 16 taps which often pour extremely rare brews, like hard-to-find styles from nearby Munster, Indiana’s Three Floyds Brewery.
